What is Preventive Maintenance?
Preventing maintenance service is keeping your fitness equipment running with minimal downtime. A regular program of FITNESS TECH OF MIAMI can truly extend the life of your equipment and save money in the long run. Regardless of the number of machines in your home or fitness center, and no matter what their workloads, a dedicated preventive maintenance program is crucial.
FITNESS TECH OF MIAMI INC only employ trained and qualified technicians who will respect your investment and ensure your equipment is repaired with quality replacement parts and the highest levels of expertise.
General Preventive Maintenance Includes the Following:
1. General
- Perform a safety inspection to include an observation of weldments, seat supports, chains, pulleys, cables and a check for missing or worn hardware, etc.
- Upholstery items will be inspected for wear and tear, rips, cuts, and sharp edges. Mounting bolts will be checked for tightness.
2. Lubrication
- Lubrication of all chains, sprockets, rollers, guide rods, seat adjustments, threaded rods, pivot points and the like where appropriate.
3. Cleaning
- The Service will clean the inside of equipment where appropriate. e.g. The motor compartments of treadmills or any units that have optical sensors. The usual housekeeping of the exterior will be the responsibility of the owner.
- Before Lubrication, the guide rods of all strength equipment will be cleaned.
4. Electrical Components and Electronics
- The Service will inspect all line cords, power supplies, batteries and similar devices for safety and functionality.
- Inspect all electrical connections and wire insulation.
- Test electronics and calibrate where necessary.
5. Performance Test
- After the preventive maintenance has been completed to a unit, it will be tried by the Service to insure the overall performance and integrity of that unit.
6. Commercial Verification
- Upon completion of the scheduled preventive maintenance visit, a completed checklist including a description of parts and repairs deemed appropriate by the Service will be given to the Owner’s representative. All necessary repairs and replacement parts must be approved by the Owner or the Owner’s representative.
ELLIPTICALS / STEPPERS
- Clean & lube drive and step chains, clutch, sprocket and drive shafts.
- Inspect drive belts and alternator belts.
- Clean & inspect return springs & pulleys, bearings, bushings, shafts & sleeves,
pedal assemblies and shaft. - Inspect and test alternator.
- Inspect all wire harnesses & connectors for visible damage and continuity.
- Inspect transmission & bearing assemblies, flywheel and tension belt and hydraulic pumps.
- Test rpm sensor, test resistance mechanism, test power supply for proper voltage.
- Calibrate resistance when necessary.
- Inspect frame & welds for cracks.
- Test all programs and functions under load.
TREADMILLS
- Clean and inspect deck & belt, lubricate when applicable.
- Test speed and elevation assemblies.
- Clean motor compartment.
- Inspect drive belt & pulleys, all wire harnesses & connections and drive motor .
- Clean and inspect auto waxer assembly.
- Inspect transmission & bearing assemblies, flywheel and tension belt and hydraulic pumps.
- Track and tension walking belt and drive belt.
- Inspect motor and roller bearings.
- Test programs and functions under load.
BIKES
- Inspect belts/chains, lubricate as required.
- Clean & inspect flywheel, flywheel gear, tension belt,
Crank assembly and bearings. - Inspect all wire harnesses & connections for visible damage
and continuity. - Inspect and test rpm sensor and resistance mechanism.
- Test internal battery voltage.
- Inspect frame and welds for cracks.
- Tighten any loose bolts.
- Test seat assy on recumbent bikes.
- Test programs and functions under load .
